The Place-Based Action Map is a national discovery tool highlighting credible, community-rooted work across the country. By submitting, you gain visibility in a national release shared with funders and ecosystem leaders, inclusion in a trusted, curated map of what’s working across regions and issue areas, and a shareable profile to use with partners and funders. You also help shape a more accurate picture of place-based impact in the United States.

Who Should Submit

We welcome submissions from:

  • Place-based and community organizations

  • Regional collaboratives and intermediaries

  • Practitioners advancing community wellbeing, economic mobility, health, climate resilience, workforce development, civic engagement, and related outcomes

You may submit your own work or nominate another organization.
Submission does not guarantee inclusion. If selected, NationSwell will follow up directly.

How Submissions Are Reviewed

To maintain credibility and usefulness, submissions are assessed based on:

  • Place-based focus: Rooted in a specific geography

  • Community connection: Designed with or accountable to local communities

  • Active work: Ongoing initiatives or partnerships, not concept stage

  • Clarity: Clear goals, approach, and outcomes to date

  • Scope alignment: Contributes to community wellbeing and place-based outcomes

Submission window: Rolling.
Selected organizations will be notified prior to publication.
