The future of equitable prosperity

The wealth gap remains one of America’s deepest divides. Centuries of discriminatory policies in housing, taxation, healthcare, and financial systems have left lasting inequities. Even in times of economic growth, the benefits accrue to a small share of households, while too many families are shut out of opportunities to build security, transfer assets, and create intergenerational stability.

The Collective Wealth Collaborative unites cross-sector leaders to confront these systemic barriers and expand pathways to prosperity. Together, we explore promising models—like guaranteed income, baby bonds, homeownership, and employee ownership—while tackling access to capital, health as a driver of wealth, and narrative change. By aligning innovation, policy, and investment, we’re working to ensure that wealth-building is not a privilege for the few, but a foundation for all.

Our mission
The Collective Wealth Collaborative aims to close persistent wealth gaps by advancing equity-centered policies, practices, and innovations that expand access to capital, ownership, and opportunity, ensuring every family can build lasting security and prosperity across generations.

As of early 2025, the top 1% of U.S. households control more than 30% of national wealth, while the bottom 50% together hold less than 3% (MarketWatch).

Homeownership sits at 65.0% in mid-2025—well below historic highs—yet remains the primary source of middle-class wealth (Census Bureau).

Roughly $84 trillion is expected to transfer from baby boomers to younger generations and charities by 2045 — the largest wealth transfer in U.S. history (MarketWatch).
