San Francisco-based start-up Hampton Foods is making plant-based ersatz-eggs that cook up and taste exactly like the real thing without using any chickens. Founder and CEO Josh Tetrick is betting that his company’s high-tech solution to making food more sustainable, humane and less expensive will catch on with both consumers and food manufacturers. The company’s second consumer product, Just Scramble, joins Just Mayo on supermarket shelves next year. It’s sure to be endorsed by chickens everywhere.
