COUNCIL ASSISTANT (BAY AREA, PART-TIME)

NationSwell is seeking a part-time assistant to support our San Francisco Council. This person will work closely with the Bay Area Council team to plan and execute on events, including preparation and on-site support, and they will ensure a top notch experience for NationSwell Council members. The ideal candidate will have a strong record of achievement, demonstrated communication and organizational skills, keen attention to detail, a strong work ethic, adaptability, ability to work independently, and enthusiasm for NationSwell's mission. The NationSwell Council Assistant will gain experience working in a fast paced start-up environment, have the opportunity to interact with high level leaders across diverse sectors, and learn about pressing national challenges and innovative solutions.

Please note that this position offers a lot of flexibility and includes 24 hours of work per week, much of which will be spent working from home or remotely. Candidates will work with the Bay Area Council manager to determine their schedule.

How You'll Contribute:
• Help curate a unique experience for all NationSwell Council members by supporting the Bay Area Council team with member engagement, programming, and growth
• Share information with Council members around events, renewals, and other areas of interest
• Plan and manage all details related to Council events, including RSVP tracking and coordinating materials
• Drive growth by supporting member + prospects communications, meeting scheduling, and identifying new member sources
• Provide on-site support at Council events
Track large amounts of Council member data and engagement information and store efficiently through the use of Salesforce
• Take on and execute various assigned projects, given interests + priorities
• Gather instances of impact to share with internal and external stakeholders
• Possess a passion for NationSwell's core issues, mission, and vision

COUNCIL CURATOR (NYC, FULL-TIME)

NationSwell is seeking a Council Curator to grow the NationSwell Council of members. This candidate will be responsible for sourcing, vetting and building the Council community of inspiring influencers and leaders who are passionate about service and social impact.

The ideal candidate will have some experience in sales, is confident in and adept at communicating with high-level stakeholders, loves building interpersonal connections, enjoys connecting the dots and building a strong professional network, is motivated by a results-based role, and possesses an enthusiasm for a fast-paced start-up environment. The Council Curator will report to the Membership Growth Director.

How You'll Contribute:
• Grow the NationSwell Council of members and generate revenue for NationSwell through individual member sales
Lead the recruitment of NationSwell Council Members primarily via outbound channels (outreach, attending events, leveraging partnership networks and more)
Manage a high-frequency of daily calls with individuals considered for Council nomination
Identify and vet professionals who are the right cultural fit for the NationSwell Council community
Assist in managing a team of Membership Coordinators to support your lead generation goals
Deliver on monthly member outreach, call and growth target everaging partnership networks and more)

This person will work closely with the Bay Area Council team to grow NSC membership, manage a portfolio of members, attend events, support member relations and communications, and implement community building programs. They will ensure a top notch experience for NationSwell Council members. The ideal candidate will have a strong record of achievement in sales and/or membership development, demonstrated communication and organizational skills, a keen attention to detail and analysis, a strong work ethic, adaptability, ability to work independently, and enthusiasm for NationSwell's mission. The NationSwell Council Manager will gain experience working in a fast paced start-up environment, have the opportunity to interact with high level leaders across diverse sectors, and learn about pressing national challenges and innovative solutions.

• Meet explicit goals around new member growth, member renewal, community engagement, and overall member satisfaction
• Actively and regularly engage with a portfolio of members (in person/via phone) to provide value, generate impact, project-manage collaborations, drive growth, and make connections between members

MEMBERSHIP GROWTH DIRECTOR (NYC, FULL-TIME)

What You’ll Do:
NationSwell’s Membership Growth team is responsible for growing the NationSwell Council, a diverse community of influencers and accomplished professionals who are passionate about service.  NationSwell Council members have access to meetings with America’s leading problem-solvers, Jeffersonian style dinners to unpack and advance solutions, a range of networking opportunities, and opportunities for direct service and impact.

NationSwell is seeking a Membership Growth Director who is thrilled at the prospect of driving individual sales while also building and growing a world-class membership sales team. This role will report directly to the VP, Strategy & Partnerships. The ideal candidate has a passion for the pitch, has 5-8 years of direct sales experience and has designed, built and managed a high-performing sales team at a startup.

Responsibilities:
• Manage a team of membership sales managers across channels (cold, referrals, inbound) to deliver upon monthly, quarterly and annual member targets, while also delivering on individual sales targets.
• Work with the VP to refine our sales strategy, processes, analytics and metrics to achieve ambitious goals while ensuring consistency and efficiency across sales channels.
• Lead by example by contributing to member growth goals and achieving individual targets.
• Develop new ideas to fuel member growth and see them through to success.
• Develop sales materials and communications that most effectively convey the NationSwell Council.
• Provide rigorous sales training and conduct frequent sales feedback huddles to develop the sales team to be best-in-class.
• Mentor the sales team while creating an exciting, fast-paced environment where people are inspired and learning every day.
• Work with NationSwell Council team to ensure sales messaging is always aligned with product and community offering.

Education & Experience Requirements:
• 5-8 years experience in sales.
• 3+ years experience building and managing a sales team.
• History as a top-performer (both as an individual contributor and sales manager) throughout your career.
• Experience at a startup/growth-company strongly preferred.
• Heavy analytical mindset with experience utilizing CRMs such as Salesforce to analyze data and develop insights for optimizations.
• Bonus for fluency in membership sales or community-based sales.
• Well regarded in the marketplace with a network of contacts among relevant potential partners.

PARTNERSHIPS DIRECTOR (NYC, FULL-TIME)

NationSwell’s Partnerships team works with leading brands, foundations and nonprofits to drive awareness and engagement to social initiatives through integrated campaigns, storytelling and thought-leadership. NationSwell is seeking a Partnerships Director to join the team and continue to generate revenue for NationSwell via partnerships and sponsorships.

This role will report directly to the VP, Strategy & Partnerships. The ideal candidate demonstrates a passion for our mission, has experience closing significant partnerships with brands, enjoys cultivating and owning partner relationships, and has at a minimum five years experience in business development, sponsorships or partnerships.

Responsibilities:
• Drive revenue to NationSwell via partnerships and sponsorships, achieving individual targets and contributing to team targets and NationSwell growth
• Generate creative and valuable partnership strategies and help bring them to life
• Develop presentations, pitches and write proposals for new business
• 360 degree pipeline management including: research, outreach, relationship cultivation and management, closing, and internal client onboarding

Education and Experience Requirements:
• 5+ years experience in business development or partnerships
• Bonus for fluency in strategy, consulting, social impact, experience design, digital media, video, and social platforms
• Well regarded in the marketplace with a network of contacts among relevant potential partners

VIDEO PRODUCER (NYC, FULL-TIME)

The NationSwell Video Producer must be able to fully develop mission-aligned documentary content. This entails preproduction, high-quality shooting and editing and producing stories by coordinating with subjects, freelancers and gathering secondary materials such as images, relevant statistics from reliable sources and music. The video producer will also be actively involved in outreach and distribution by alerting relevant websites to new content, recutting content for Facebook publication and actively looking for and exploiting new distribution channels.

The video producer is also expected to pitch two to three new, mission-aligned and researched story ideas every month.

In addition to editorial work, the video producer will work on sponsored and partnership (branded) content. In executing this work, the video producer will need to seamlessly communicate with sources, PR representatives, corporate social responsibility-office contacts and our own NationSwell partnership team to ensure we are telling high-quality stories that satisfy the objectives of all parties involved.

The ideal applicant is a video journalist that has also successfully completed several branded projects.

Applicant must be able to: 
• Shoot high-quality video and capture audio as a one-person band, in all manner of settings both indoor and outdoor
• Professionally light for interviews
• Develop pre-produced pitches
• Professionally edit and proficiently color correct and sound mix
• Stay abreast of current events and developments with social enterprises
• Stay abreast of video technology, as well as the rapidly-changing online video world
• Get along with all manner of personalities and calmly execute under pressure

It is a Plus if Applicant: 
• Can proficiently speak a second common American language (Spanish, Mandarin, Arabic)
• Has working knowledge of graphics programs like After Effects, Motion
• Has a network of video producers and sources to call upon for story production and ideas
• Has produced shoots before, ideally from afar

We seek to publish original stories of the highest quality and journalistic rigor that move readers to act. As a fully digital editorial team hailing from TIME, New York Magazine, and POLITICO, we constantly seek out new ways to tell good stories. We want to work with talented writers who are passionate about shining a brighter spotlight on the problem-solvers. For feature-length pieces (800-1,400 words), we offer up to $600.
