On Thursday, the New York City formally handed over 12 acres on Roosevelt Island to Cornell University to build its applied sciences campus, dubbed Cornell NYC Tech. Thanks to this video released by Cornell on Wednesday, we have a better sense of what this campus is actually going to look like. The plans for the campus incorporate a number of sustainable design elements, and Cornell says the design of the campus will boost collaboration and innovation.

Cornell won a competition organized by New York City in 2011 to build the campus. The school will award graduate degrees in applied sciences and technology. Mayor Michael Bloomberg hopes it will spur innovation and create jobs in New York City.
